PLEASE:It will
always
speed up completion and shipping of your walking stick if you would leave a Note as to the needed length WITH the order. :-) Some buyers have taken several days to respond to requests for the needed length in order to complete the order. Ebay dings me in my seller metrics if I don't ship by the 1 day handling time I offer on these listings, ...EVEN IF I was waiting on the customer for necessary instruction on the needed length.
This is a longer "Staff" Length Tactical Walking Stick that works out well at about 46" to 48" in length for most folks of average height. They NOW come with the same small space of bare rod at the top as my shorter cane length Walking Sticks offered in another listing. This is useful to tie on a Paracord or Leather Lanyard (wrist strap) if you wish to do so at some point.
The 48" length works well for me for "City" walking, and I'm 5' 10" tall. For walking regularly in the woods, (especially downhill in rocky terrain),...an extra 2" to 3" is useful to steady your decent by placing the tip out in front.
Let me know what length you might prefer lengthwise and I will make it so....
Also, I can once again offer Walking Staffs to taller individuals of perhaps 6'-2" to 6'-8"in height, as all my new rod was ordered sufficient for up to 57-1/2 inch stick lengths!
If you need an extended length I can do that at a very reasonable surcharge of up to .00, so please request an updated invoice if you need anything over 48". (I depend on being able to use the walking staff cut offs to make a few Yawara Sticks as part of my pricing model, and extended Staff lengths "eat" into that possibility. :-)
Some flex is normal in any stick length,....and is actually beneficial as it helps to absorb vibrations while walking. Titanium is used to make bicycle frames, ...and is noted to absorb a lot of the vibrations that would otherwise reach the rider,.....a trait that is appreciated here.
I fit and assemble by hand here in the USA. :-) These are designed to offer a side grip while walking, and I often use my thumb up top over the cap.
They are designed, hand made, and assembled in the USA by:
Ti Rod Tactical™
These should work well for a variety of user heights as is, .....because of the side gripping area which averages about 16+ inches in length.
These come with an exposed
Stainless Steel
Cap this is now machined and hardened, and is covered with a hand fitted rubber cover. The brushed cap exiting the top of the rubber cover looks great, and makes a nice area to place your thumb for a shift in hand position.
This walking staff is over a foot longer than most cane length sticks, for those of you who prefer a side grip rather than the usual top grip.
I use one of these occasionally myself when I wish to travel at a more leisurely pace, such as when I'm feeding the ducks at the local Price Chopper Supermarket pond. I can sit on a fence post and steady my binoculars over the top of my wrist, cupping the steel cap with my hand to steady the binoculars :-)
I received this wonderful update regarding an extended length Titanium Walking Staff Mike B. had purchased back on 7-27-18. I was not envisioning my Staffs used as a weight loss tool, and I was thrilled to learn of his hard earned result....
Email on 2-17-19, Quote:
"Hello. Back in July of last year, I bought a full-length walking staff. I wanted you to know I've lost 100 pounds walking with it. I feel guilty if I see it and haven't walked. It motivates me. I love it. I walk 5.25 very hilly miles a day. Thank you very much! Mike" (/Quote)
I responded in awe of his results, and asked his permission to use his details to share with others. After a few days he offered his permission,... and a few more details here:
Mike's email from 3-4-19, Quote:
"Joe,
Thanks for the nice response. You can use it, and this, no problem. It's all the more remarkable given that I have severe chronic thyroid disease. Hypothyroidism makes it almost impossible to lose weight. Went from heaviest ever (due the medication screw-up) 6'3", 327# to 227#. " ( /Quote)
Remarkable dedication by Mike to gain this well deserved result, ...and thanks so much for allowing me to share it with others.

Regarding the Titanium material,....... I received the following messages (as well as + feedback) from the buyers:
Joe, you have my permission to use this in whatever capacity you chose. >>--Gary--

"This is one of the most amazing sticks I’ve ever worked with. It has light weight, good balance and devastating power. A true indestructible stick for walking or defense”
....and.....
Quote from Larry V : "Got the Ti-stick. Really light and I love it! This is an all day user for sure. Very, very sturdy. I really like the simple, utilitarian design of the stick. Congrats on your successful idea for a truly practical walking companion."
.....and......
"Hi Joe,
The address you used was correct. I got the Ti walking stick on Saturday. Let me tell you that, that is one sturdy stick. I'm 6'2" and 425 pounds and that stick is as sturdy as a rock. I couldn't be happier. Totally satisfied.
Thank You,
Mike P***"
Always nice to hear back that my efforts met a customer's needs. And they're right, this is one strong stick!
Anyway, this listing is for the sale of ONE Titanium 6AL-4V Alloy Shaft Walking stick. It is about as tough as most anyone could ever want or need. :-)
I'll be putting these together as needed based on demand, but usually I can get it shipped within a day or so!
The shaft is 0.445 Inch Diameter
Solid
Round Rod, Grade 5 (Aerospace grade) 6AL-4V Titanium stock, whose cap end is now threaded to match the threads, with epoxy added for a secure attachment.
Titanium won't rust or corrode, and can be refinished in a minute or less with a simple "Red" Scotch-Brite pad available at any hardware store should the need arise.
This is a noticeably
solid
walking stick, and the solid Titanium bar stock simply
can't break
like wood, carbon fiber, or fiberglass can. (especially when really needed!) The ultimate "Tactical" Walking Stick when ultimate strength is considered!
Titanium has some unusual qualities, and chief among them is it reacts quite differently than other metals. As Titanium gets stressed, it INCREASES in it's resistance to additional stresses. :-)
I noticed right away another feature of Titanium. It noticeably deadens any perceived vibration felt in hand when used. (I tested it on a heavy padded bag) I love that feature in my titanium bikes,.......it makes for a comfortable bike,.....and also appreciated here.
The ground tip is an easily replaceable and popular Black Diamond brand "Trekking Pole Tip Protector".
(Note: A "fine" Scotch-Brite pad can be used on the Titanium rod to remove any scratches and make it look new again :-)
I've seen Titanium canes offered for over ,100.00, but have decided to offer Grade 5 Titanium Walking Sticks in various styles at much more affordable pricing. (as long as I can source the bar stock at a fair price.)
(
As of 6-19-18 this product has been upgraded! :-) I have secured a supply of machined and hardened Stainless Steel Top Caps, for use on my Titanium Walking STAFFS here and shorter Walking Sticks offered in another listing.
These SS caps cost 5X what the chrome plated steel ones did, but these new caps are well worth it to me,...and YOU! )
