This thin paper HANDBILL measures approx. 8 1/2 x 11 ins. Art by Ruth Garbell . Original 1st printing. Near mint. No rips, holes, tears or tape. Nice and clean. On pink paper. DANCE Nov. 12th. To The Big Beat of The Morlocks 9:00 - 12:00. a Go Go where the Action Is. Proceeds go to the United Crusade. Admission .00. U.C. Berkeley Pauley Ballroom. I think this is 1967. This came from the artists archive. Very cool looking unusual handbill. See photos.Ruth Garbell was born in San Francisco in 1946. She attended schools in San Franciso through high school. Went on to U.C. Berkeley. She was a prolific artist in the 1960s-1970s. She had 2 solo art shows at U.C. Berkeley. One in 1967 and another in 1968. At 21 she had a solo show at Edward Lesters Gallery in San Francisco.685 Sutter St in 1967. She did many designs for rock posters and handbills in the 1960s. She also produced some large litho art prints. Some of her art prints and paintings were inspired by looking at cells in the electron microscope. They have a Bob Fried like feel to them. Very organic with bright vivid colors.
